Is that the same old hutch from my bedroom over 30 years ago, you ask?
Why yes it is!
Very therapeutic to sand the bazillion old layers, paint on a zillion more layers, move it to every possible corner of the main level, hate this new house and all it's new-ness, then finally settle on a decent location for the project that will have way too many feelings associated with it.
And all before hubs came home.
And all before hubs came home.

Chan, I wish I had your talent to put a home together. I love the blue hutch. It looks great in the new home.
I LOVE IT!
I love it! Don't worry. You guys will wear that new off in no time.
You are so daring! I love the turquoise! It has taken me 16 years to finally paint my bedroom different from the builder's white! I'm too afraid! I can't wait to see more of what you have done to your new house to make it perfect!
I love the hutch in blue and I think your polish pottery looks awesome on it! :)
You've done it again! So updated and fresh! NICE JOB!

Chantelle Green Lang: The polish pottery problem started in Iceland. Not to mention it has grown into a serious hobby for many family members, too ;) Unfortunately, this last move I lost a huge chunk of my stash! It was such a bummer unpacking broken piece after broken piece.

Julie Phipps: Love it! I'm SO sorry to hear about the broken pieces! It makes me really nervous for mine. They have replacement cost insurance now...does that cover a trip to Poland to get more? We should go together!

Shannon Wolff Mavica ⊕ lol, Julie! Chantelle, it happened to us on our CA to VA move...they broke a ton of my husband's grandmother's china and glasses. The china can still be found on ebay but the only information we have about the glasses is "made in France".. bah. I searched for hours trying to find them on ebay but no luck. guess we just have to realize it is bound to happen and as long as we have our health and our families the rest does not matter very much. I hope you find a way to get them to pay for that trip to Poland, though! ;-)

Tennille Bueno: Chantelle, you are putting me to shame with your fun projects, rods/curtains and painted walls! Inside of our house still looks like we moved in last week instead of last year!!

Misse: I look at it and even though it's a new color, in a new house, with new decor (gorge-jus BTW) I still see it in the bedroom that it came from! :) Remember when.... (insert any of 50000 memories here.)
