Happy Birthday Hottie!

Why do we love mom?
-Garrett: "Because she buys me stuff!" - said with a huge smile on his face while getting mad at me for interrupting him while he is trying to read his new book.

-Madison: "Because I love her!" - said with a grumpy voice because she's been put on the spot and embarrassed about having to say something nice.

-Dave: I love her for many reasons, but a few I can think of now are;
1. She is my conscience - I can go on and on about anything, but in the end she is the voice of reason.
2. She is well-spoken. When she talks, it always makes sense. She always has her facts in order, and she believes what she is saying.
3. She has a humorous way of dealing with her two "Aspergers Boys".
4. Of course, she is the best mother in the world!
5. She is organized and always has a plan.
6. She deals with my extreme organization habits (see #3).
7. It still takes my breath away to see her every day.

Happy Birthday & hurry home. - We miss you.

Happy Birthday in Happy Valley . . . . .

Lexie Lang always has her birthday dinner at Brick Oven in Provo.
"Not by tradition", her mom says. "It just turns out that way."
It just so happens that her birthday falls on a Monday this year.
Monday night + Brick Oven in Happy Valley = One Giant FHE!!!

And to conclude the spirit of the evening . . . . ice cream at the Creamery!

Utah!

So I have been in Utah long enough to blow our combined rebate/incentive checks on the local economy.

My Food Fix is being fulfilled . . . .fry sauce, vanilla cokes, Cafe Rio.
And I think I've only been here just over 24 hours!

I've also had plenty enough of Utah drivers!

Just tonight when I was turning in to Crown Burger (food fix list item #3) I got honked at! (fer RUDE!)

I wasn't even "strollin".
Apparently I should have taken the turn into the parking lot at the posted 45 MPH!

Sunrise Service

Our church met on the beach for breakfast and humidity.
Dave manned the grill where he made scrambled eggs and pancakes.

You simply cannot beat a Guam sunrise.

Happy Easter from the western edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Because I have been given much . . .

A little piece of my heart is breaking.
I have just dropped the Alig girls off with their mom at LAX.
And now I sit blubbering by myself
instead of hearing 5 little voices needing something
or just saying “I love you Sister Lang!”
What a fun few months our family has had getting to know those adorable kids!
It’s been “Plenty Fun!”

I want to hug my own little family right now and tell them “We did good!”

There are no words . . .

I just didn't have the heart to crop it.

What makes a good day.

"Have I done any good in the world today?"
Misse and Grandma Lang can answer "yes".

"Have I helped anyone in need?"
I really needed a chocolate fix this morning. Those hidden Cadbury mini eggs were a gem!

"Have I cheered up the sad"
I donned my new name brand fancy housewife gloves to clean the bunny room. They match perfectly with the flamingo apron from years back.
So what if my birthday isn't for another 2 weeks - I needed a cheer me up!

"And made someone feel glad"
The ribbon will make that extra little detail on the new neighbors cookies.
(I even saved the WalMart bag the ribbon was wrapped in)

"If Not I Have Failed Indeed"
. . . . . . . . It's all about the little things

Home Sweet Home

We have hit a major milestone in the Navylang family . . . .
3 consecutive years in the same house!

I was excited to tell the kids when I picked them up from school - but was adamantly corrected.

"Actually mom, we have only lived in 3 houses. You can't include condos, apartments, or even townhouses in the same category as a house!"

So please pardon my lack of technicality!

I just know we've looked at the same paint color,

Have sat in the same furniture arrangements,

Cooked in the same kitchen

And let 3 years worth of "stuff" accumulate under Madi's bed!

Night Spear Fishing in Merizo

Every so often a member of our tiny little branch family invites the guys to come down to Merizo for a night of spear fishing.
Now we all know David is a little less adventurous - so he just hangs out with Albert's "extended" extended family while the others fish.
David's night of "fishing" included an ukulele concert and pickled pigs feet.
